Evictions - After Moratoriums

The goal of this forum is to provide updates on the impact of evictions with the ending of various eviction moratoriums and how private and non-profit sectors are addressing the expected increase in rental defaults. The forum will provide updates on the current status of requests for rental assistance, the availability and use of existing rental assistance in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, and proposals on the Federal level for eviction prevention and rental assistance.

The Forum will begin with an overview of housing needs based on calls to 211. CHN Housing Partners which is administrating the rental assistance for Cleveland and Cuyahoga County will provide information on the demand for rental assistance and Legal Aid will provide an update on requests for eviction representation and the implementation of the Tenant Representation Program. What landlords are experiencing and how they are responding will be provided by the Northeast Ohio Apartment and Homeowners Association.

The view from the courts will be provided by the Cleveland Housing Court and the impact on suburban courts from the perspective of the Cleveland Hts. Municipal Court.
