OHIO'S TWO-YEAR STATE SPENDING PLAN: WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR OUR COMMUNITIES?
This forum will focus on the state budget which tends to reflect the priorities of the political party in power. For the past 35 years, that has meant tax cuts and reduced services throughout the state of Ohio. The complex problems of big cities do not receive nearly enough attention. This forum will focus on the current edition of the state budget. $74.7 billion in general funds will be allocated through a series of committee meetings through the House and the Senate and finally be sent to the Governor’s office to be approved and become law. So much of this last year has been taken up with the global pandemic and it has been hard to hold focus on the other issues that affect our daily lives. This forum will focus on these important issues such as schools, safety, social welfare, healthcare, and transportation.
